The 2011 Ned Kelly Awards shortlist has been announced, and we’re delighted to report that Angela Savage’s The Half-Child is on the list for Best Fiction.

The Ned Kelly Awards recognise the best in Australian crime fiction. Garry Disher won the Best Fiction award last year for Wyatt. Shane Maloney, Adrian Hyland, Peter Temple and Helen Garner have also won Ned Kelly Awards in previous years.

The winners will be announced on Wednesday 31 August, as part of the Melbourne Writers Festival. The full shortlist can be found here, and you can book tickets for the awards presentation on the Melbourne Writers Festival website.
