Text’s October education e-newsletter highlighted, among other great titles and events, Tim Pegler’s latest novel, Five Parts Dead. It tells the story of sixteen-year-old Dan who is injured and traumatised by a car accident that has left three of his mates dead. Now dragged on a family holiday to recuperate, he must solve an historical mystery in order to lay his own ghosts to rest.

We invited teachers and librarians to tell us in 25 words or less why their school would benefit from a class set of this powerful book. The response was brilliant and there were many great entries to choose from—but the entry that we all thought perfectly summed up why Five Parts Dead is an important read for teenagers came from Sharon Blackie at Staughton College in Melton South:
