Number 3 chiller
And now for the next edition in our ‘Relatives Read Books’ series, the esteemed and erudite father (and very keen for his photo shoot, we must say) of senior editor Jane Pearson has read the incredibly epic (947 pages) The Fortunes of Richard Mahony by Henry Handel Richardson.
Mr Barrie Sheppard made short work of this tome and has fascinating things to say about this classic of Australian literature.

Evacuation is a new novel about acts of resistance from French writer Raphaël Jerusalmy, who imagines an evacuation in war-torn Tel Aviv.

We at Text fell in love with her fourth novel, Look at Me, and knew that we had to bring it to you. This is the first time Mareike Krügel has been translated into English and we’re sure it won’t be the last.
Translated by the wonderful Imogen Taylor, Look at Me is both blackly funny and deeply reflective.
